Most notably, the new Ishikawa Signature Model is based on Casio’s popular GM-2100 series, featuring a rounded analog case silhouette coupled with an octagonal bezel. The green color scheme and golf ball motif on the dial are stylish without being ostentatious. I really appreciate the heft and durability of these stainless steel 2100 models. They feel great on the wrist.

Technical details include a 49.3 x 44.4 mm resin case, stainless steel bezel, and resin band. Weighing just 72 grams, the watch promises all-day comfort during tournament play. The quartz movement is encased in a shock-resistant structure with 200M water resistance.

Beyond the robust feature set, standout touches honor Ishikawa’s personal journey. His signature is engraved above the message “Go For The Top” on the caseback, echoing his mindset in rising to become Japan’s youngest professional tour winner. The gold golf marker shaped exactly like the watch is a nice touch and adds to the commemorative celebration.

About Ryo Ishikawa – Japan’s Golf Prodigy

At 15, Ryo Ishikawa became the youngest winner ever on the Japanese tour. After turning pro in 2008, he continued breaking records, becoming the circuit’s youngest champion at 16. Ishikawa’s success accelerated from there. In 2009, he won 4 tournaments to become the youngest money leader in Japan. The next year, he shot a 58, the lowest score ever on a major tour. By age 27, Ishikawa had earned over 1 billion yen in career winnings. At 30, with 18 career victories, the former teenage phenom remains a leading pro in Japanese golf.

I have a soft spot for Casio golf watches as my very first watch was the charming Casio GG-9 Golf Game watch. I played this thing non-stop as a young kid when it was released in 1982:
