The DWE5657 pays homage to the watch that started it all – the original DW-5000 released in 1983. Casio made waves by advertising the rugged DW-5000 alongside its other high-tech watches like the TC-500 touchscreen calculator and the TS-3000 digital thermometer in Popular Science magazine.
The ad highlighted the DW-5000’s groundbreaking shock-resistant construction and 10-year battery life, setting the stage for G-Shock’s reputation for durability and performance.
