The retro-styled “Casio Tiffany” watch, the MTP-1302D-2A2V known for its Tiffany-blue colored dial, is back in stock on the Casio website for $74.95 and comes packaged in a collectible tin case. While the vintage design of this watch is quite attractive, I’m disappointed by the ion-plated case and bezel rather than stainless steel, and the bracelet also appears to be cheaply made. For the price point, this timepiece would be much more appealing if it were made with a stainless steel case.

If you do purchase this model, I’d recommend swapping out the low-quality bracelet for an aftermarket 20mm strap to elevate the look. While the vintage aesthetics are nice, the ion-plating and subpar bracelet make this feel like it could have been better executed for the $75 cost.

The hype around this watch was overblown, with Casio quickly selling out and eBay sellers pricing it above $120 initially – an outrageous amount.

Reviews are mixed. Most agree it’s a decent watch for the cost. But many note Casio missed the mark, as the watch seems like an afterthought lacking in quality finishing. The fluted bezel in particular looks odd.

Overall, Casio could have had a great vintage-inspired piece if they put in more effort. But the poor execution, with mediocre finishing and an awkward bezel design, makes this feel like a rushed cash-grab on the retro trend rather than a well-designed timepiece. With some refinements, this could have lived up to the hype.

Women’s Casio Tiffany Watch in Stainless Steel

Casio also makes a 35mm women’s version of this watch, the MTP-B145D-2A1V. Unlike the men’s model, this one has a cleaner, more modern stainless steel case without the fluted bezel. The thinner hands match the feminine styling nicely. To me, the stainless steel case gives it a much classier look than the ion-plated men’s version. I wish they had used the same material on the original model.

Right now the women’s version seems to only be on Casio’s international website. But it’s already popping up on eBay. Overall, the MTP-B145D-2A1V women’s watch is a big improvement over the men’s ion-plated model in terms of looks.
